Boston Celtics Earn No. 1 Seed in Eastern Conference, Eye Return to NBA Finals

Lose Boston Celtics They earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference in March and have home field advantage throughout the postseason. as they look to return to the Finals for the first time since 2022 and hang the NBA championship banner for the first time since 2008. They will face the Miami Heat No. 8which evolved from the play-in.

They will wait for the match results to find out their first round opponent, as will the second seed, the New York Knicks.

After play-in, the 16-team NBA playoffs begin with eight teams from each conference in the first round meeting in a best-of-7 series. The four rounds of the NBA playoffs are best of 7 and teams are not reseeded after each round. The team with the best regular season record in each series will have the advantage for that series. All series are played in a 2-2-1-1-1 format, with the team with the best record in hosting Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 (if needed).

We’ll have full coverage of the NBA playoffs through the 2024 NBA Finals, which begin June 6 on ABC, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN app for the United States.
