In the course of a procedural vote tonight in the House of Representatives, a bipartisan coalition was formed in support of the three bills that provide for the provision of military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. 136 congressmen voted “for” and 94 – “against”. If the bills are supported Saturday in the House of Representatives, a vote will be held in the Senate, where Democrats hold a majority. The documents must then be signed by President Joe Biden.
Debate on aid to Ukraine in Congress began in October 2023. Its delay has led to a shortage of ammunition for the Ukrainian military amid the ongoing Russian offensive in the Donetsk region.
