The mayor candidate of Jobbik – Conservatives told our newspaper:
As of today, I am suspending my mayoral candidate campaign, and I am asking my supporters to support Dávid Vitézy in the mayoral election, and Péter Róna, the leader of the Jobbik-Conservatives list, in the European Parliament election.
Brenner Koloman explained: “When I started Fixing Budapest on November 21st! to explain the details of my program, I accepted the invitation of the leadership of Jobbik – Conservatives to run for mayor, because I am convinced that neither the candidate of the one-party supremacy of Fidesz, nor the left-liberal side with the parties lined up behind Gergely Karácsony, do not believe in a bourgeois Budapest, but see the capital as a prey , having distributed the skin of the bear that had not yet been killed well in advance. And the Fidesz superpower has been pursuing anti-municipal and capital politics for a long time by withdrawing resources.”
The politician, who withdrew from the mayoral candidacy, emphasized: “I have always stood for Put Budapest in order! program, that we have to talk about the real problems of the citizens of the capital. I am very sorry that the mayoral candidate debate did not take place, where we could have clashed our programs, only Dávid Vitézy and myself said yes to the request of a national television station.”
“Dávid Vitézy’s personality and professional dedication can be a guarantee”
Brenner Koloman sees that
Dávid Vitézy’s personality and professional dedication can be a guarantee that he will listen to the real problems of the citizens and come up with solutions not dictated by the party centers. I do not agree with Dávid Vitézy on everything, for example fair use of cars was an important element of my program, but there are many points in common. My program point »Fix public safety!« is similar to the proposal for the establishment of the BKK police. We also agree that the outer districts should be more strongly represented in the capital’s politics, because Budapest is not only about the city center. I also proposed and support the investigation of corruption cases and the construction of rental apartments instead of mini-Dubai. There are many points in my program that I believe will be feasible if Dávid Vitézy becomes mayor.
The transport specialist is running in the election as a candidate for the Association for Budapest with Dávid Vitézy and the LMP. When asked if there was a Jobbik-LMP agreement behind his withdrawal, Brenner Koloman stated: “This is about Dávid Vitézy and the programs. I just want the mayor not to be appointed by expert camps controlled by party centers, but to be a city leader who works according to a civic set of values and works for the citizens of Budapest and for the public good. As I have listed, several points of our agenda are the same, so I support Dávid Vitézy, but at the same time I encourage everyone to vote for Péter Róna and the Jobbik – Conservative list in the EP elections. EU resources.”
In the election on June 9, Gergely Karácsony is supported by DK, Momentum, MSZP and Párbeszéd. The Fidesz-KDNP candidate is Alexandra Szentkirályi, who opened her campaign on Wednesday. The Mi Hazánk Movement launches András Grundtner. Gábor Kajtor can start in the colors of the Szabad Ország Movement. In our previous article, we asked Gergely Karácsony, Alexandra Szentkirályi and Dávid Vitézy about divisive issues.
