DOHA, KOMPAS.TV Bad news came to the Indonesian U23 National Team in the middle of preparations for the final match of Group A of the 2024 Asian Cup U23 against Jordan.

PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir revealed that the appeal submitted to the AFC regarding the performance of the referee was rejected by the AFC.

Previously, PSSI complained about the performance of the referee Nasrullo Kabirov and the referee video assistant referee (VAR) Sivakorn Pu-Udom.

Both are considered to have made decisions that were detrimental to the Indonesian U23 National Team when they faced Qatar, Monday (15/4/2024).

Indonesia’s own U23 national team suffered a 0-2 loss in that match.

Erick Thohir explained that the rejection of the application by the AFC meant that the two players, Ivar Jenner and Ramadhan Sananta, failed to escape the punishment.

“The AFC has responded, it is still running. “So our complaint was rejected, Ivar Jenner was punished to play once,” he said, Friday (19/4/2024), quoted from BolaSport.

“Ramadhan Sananta was penalized twice and could not play, that is the result,” continued Erick Thohir.

Ivar had to be absent against Australia, and was able to play against Jordan, Sunday (21/4/2024).
