Dribbling kings: Jérémy Doku and (surprisingly?) Charles De Ketelaere achieve strong figures, also good news for Union SG, Club Brugge and Genk – Football News

Jérémy Doku has already made a big impression at Manchester City this season. The statistics now also prove that the quick dribbler and winger is really a very quick dribbler. No one in the top leagues does better than him. There is also good news for Genk and Club Brugge.

Every month, the Center International d’Etude du Sport (CIES), together with the Football Observatory, looks at the different aspects of the game of football. In addition, it gives ratings to all players in Europe.

The figures once again show that Jérémy Doku is an absolute dribbling wonder. No midfielder, winger or attacker does better than him. As a result, he receives a score of 100 on this statistic, all others are expressed in a value compared to the Red Devil.

The CIES has compared data on completed and successful dribbles, also taking into account the level of the matches. And then under no circumstances can one get rid of Doku from Manchester City.

Belgium once again the country of dribblers?

Doku is far ahead of Michael Olise (Crystal Palace) and Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich). Players such as Ousmane Dembélé, Rafael Leão or Khvicha Kvaratshkelia complete the top 10 of the five biggest leagues.

If we look at the wingers who do not play in the major leagues, a certain Johan Bakayoko from PSV ends up in fifth place. With Antonio Nusa (Club Brugge, seventh) and Christopher Bonsu Baah (Genk, ninth), there are two more players from the Belgian competition in the top 10.

But if you also look at the players from the ‘smaller’ competitions, no one comes close to Jérémy Doku. He is receiving increasing praise from his coach Guardiola, from national coach Tedesco and from all analysts.

The primus inter pares of the ‘smaller’ competitions is also a well-known one with Francisco Conceiçao. The 21-year-old Portuguese is the son of coach Sergio Conceiçao, who we know from Standard de Liège, among others.

Amoura and De Ketelaere also impress with their figures

Wingers are known for their quick dribbles, but playmakers and deep strikers also show beautiful things. And CIES has also collected the figures for this. Charles De Ketelaere of Atalanta Bergamo is in the top 10 here when it comes to the major competitions.

With Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Jesus and ex-Union striker Victor Boniface, among others, the former Bruges native is in a very nice list and top 10 in that area. Although he doesn’t come close to Doku in terms of grades.

And in the competitions that do not belong to the top 5, we see a certain Mohamed Amoura at the very top. This has generated a lot of interest for the Union striker from Brussels. With Denis Dragus (ex-Standard) also in the top 10, there are also some old acquaintances in the list.
