Millionaires. Sławomir Świątecki – did he win a million zlotys?
Sławomir Świątecki from Katowice needed less than four seconds to sort out the answers in “first come, first served”. He turned out to be the best and had a chance to fight for one million zlotys. Sławomir is a historian by education and a linguist by passion. He speaks Romanian, Persian and Indonesian, among others. In Tuesday’s episode, he managed to win PLN 250,000. He started Wednesday’s game with a million zloty question:

– I rarely come to Łódź. Maybe let’s try to ask the audience – Sławomir decides immediately. The people gathered in the studio do not give a clear indication. 37% of the votes go to C, 33% to A and 25% to B. The differences are so small that the player decides to exchange the question. Interestingly, the correct answer turns out to be A, i.e. in Łódź they eat dumplings with strawberries and fried cabbage.

Sławomir uses the 50:50 lifeline. The responses that remain are a nicotine metabolite and an animal neurotransmitter.

What was the million zloty question?
Sławomir had one last question worth a million zlotys:
“Like masters of sweet treats, they give gifts when they teach boys how to make promises.” A promise, that is?

Sławomir does not know the answer to the question and decides not to risk it and end his game here. How would he bet if he kept playing? – I would say 65% C, 25% D, 8% B, 2% A – admits Sławomir and after a while he learns that answer A is the correct one.

How many people won a million in “Millionaires”?
So far, we have had seven millionaires in the Polish edition of the program. Krzysztof Wójcik won the highest award in 2010. In 2018, retired teacher Maria Romanek became the second Polish millionaire, and in 2019, Kasia Kant-Wysocka was the third person to receive the check. Two years later, musicologist Jacek Iwaszko broke the bank, and in 2022, Tomasz Orzechowski became the fifth millionaire, famous for his extremely composed playing. At the beginning of 2024, Mateusz Żaboklicki became the sixth millionaire. Tomek Boruch joins the winners’ circle as the seventh.
