The mobilization law will enter into force on May 18 – “Voice of Ukraine” published the text

Official publication of the Verkhovna Rada “Voice of Ukraine” on April 17 published the law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding certain issues of military service, mobilization and military registration.

Based on paragraph 1 of the transitional provisions of the document, Law No. 3633-IX will enter into force on May 18 – one month after the day following its publication.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed this law on April 16.

On April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on improving certain issues of mobilization, military registration and military service. This decision was supported by 283 people’s deputies – mostly from the ruling party “Servant of the People” and allied factions and groups. The provision on the conditions of military demobilization disappeared from the final version of the document.

The document, among other things, stipulates that men aged 18-60 are required to update their credentials within 60 days at the military commissariat, the center for providing administrative services (TsNAP) or in the conscript’s electronic cabinet. Also, those conscripted for the duration of martial law must always carry their military registration document and present it at the request of the police or employees of the TCC.

Martial law has been introduced in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, the day of the full-scale invasion of Russia. At the same time, general mobilization was announced. Since then, the Verkhovna Rada has extended the terms of martial law and mobilization every three months.
