What is the movie “Love First” about?
The story of Nina (Olga Bołądź) – a modern-day Cinderella and Robert (Piotr Stramowski) – a “prince” who is the son of the presidential couple. Every woman deserves fairy-tale love! She is an ordinary girl next door, he is the best party of the Republic of Poland. They say opposites attract, but love can be unpredictable. Especially when other people are too interested in her. She is in the process of a life change and is taking her first steps in the paparazzi profession. He also wants to live on his own terms and free himself from the spotlight, which may turn out to be more difficult than he thinks. Will only a fleeting “page one love” spark between the characters, or will there be a great, lifelong feeling? The comedy is directed by Maria Sadowska, creator of, among others, “The Art of Loving” and “Dubai Girls”. The script was written by Mariusz Kuczewski, known for his work on the biggest hits of Polish commercial cinema, including: three parts of “Letters to M.” The film was produced by TFP on behalf of Telewizja Polsat, Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel.
Meeting a person from “another fairy tale”
– It seems to me that Robert is at a point where, due to his work, constant rush and rushing forward, he may have missed something, maybe something is just passing him by. He is constantly waiting for some change and feels that it will come soon. And suddenly she appears, “all in white”. Someone from another fairy tale comes, someone who – romantically speaking – gives meaning – Piotr Stramowski describes the meeting of his hero with Nina.
Fight for a better tomorrow
The character played by Olga Bołądź faces many challenges due to bad life decisions. – She trusted her life in the hands of a guy who turned out to be completely unworthy. He has to take care of himself and his daughter, he has to build himself up again. It’s very contemporary, emphasizes the actress. Nina didn’t expect that working as a paparazzi would completely change her life…
Life transformation
Nina’s story is intended to draw attention to several socially important issues, such as unemployment among women. – They are often left out in the cold, just like our heroine. Everything she believed in and invested ten years of her life in disappears in one day. It turns out that you can stand on your own feet and you have to get out of your comfort zone. What is important is that she must first find herself and understand who she wants to be so that she can truly fall in love – says director Maria Sadowska, who also recorded the title song for the production.
With distance and self-irony
The film, although an extremely popular genre in Poland, is unlike any other. He draws from it to the fullest, but it also carries a large dose of self-irony and contains many references to pop culture. – I think that throughout the entire film you can feel this tongue-in-cheek and disarming romantic comedy – says Maria Sadowska. There is a galaxy of stars on the screen, because the main characters are also accompanied by, among others, Magdalena Schejbal, Rafał Zawierucha, Mateusz Damięcki, Magdalena Koleśnik, Tomasz Oświatiński and Ewa Telega.
