Supplementary sampling is to be conducted tomorrow Thursday on the plot of the company “Pandremmenos” – where approximately 25 trucks with inert materials and evidence from the scene of the crime were illegally transported – following the order of the appellant investigator, which confirms the concerns of relatives and experts about the correctness of the procedure.
According to information from Documento, after mapping the site by the Anubis team with specially trained detection dogs, it was estimated that the material present in the site (embankments) is too large in relation to the samples taken, which respectively there are very few. It is possible that the samples were insufficient, so the additional sampling is to ensure that the samples will be taken sufficiently and from the right places, as rubble has been transported to the plot from other places as well, as the contractor himself has stated before the investigator.
Therefore, the appellant investigator gave an order for new sampling on the privately owned plot, which will be conducted tomorrow, Thursday, April 18, in the presence of forensic experts, special technical advisors, relatives of the victims, lawyers and, of course, employees of the state’s general chemistry. Sampling may be done with special “light type” machines.
This new development confirms victims’ relatives and technical advisers who spoke of a faulty methodology in the sampling, which could give wrong results.
The fears were confirmed
Specifically, Dr. Emmanouil Papadakis, professor of applied mathematics at the University of Houston Texas, member of the team of technical advisors of the “Tempi 2023 Association” and individual families, had stated regarding the sampling procedures carried out on the privately owned plot that:
“But once again it was found that the theoretical knowledge of the Greek scientists about the method and the sampling process is incomplete as well as the insufficient knowledge about the practices followed.
Both the chemists of Larissa and the technical advisors present as shown in the media, did not collect, or did not demand to collect, a sufficient number of samples, probably due to ignorance of basic practical principles of statistics.
Twelve(12) specimens is a small number for a reliable investigation especially when you are looking for something rare and under these conditions after 13 months.

The presence of Technical Consultants during pre-investigative or investigative acts has the sole purpose of ensuring the objectivity of the process, which cannot be ensured if the correct methodology is not followed and therefore they must be differentiated immediately without expressing personal but technocratic feelings .
In the present case (as we were informed by statements in the media), the correct methodology and as required by the statistical rules for determining the number of samples was not followed.
Therefore from the outset in this way the objectivity of the process has been undermined in combination with the fact that the site remained unprotected from any contamination for 13 months, let alone that the accuracy of the claims that the investigated territory is entirely , or only this, from the area of the accident” Dr. Papadakis.
