Rancagua Sur failed to score points in its debut in the central group of the Third Division B. On Saturday, at the Guillermo Saavedra stadium, the red and black team received Curacaví FC, and the visit was the one that took the victory thanks to the goal of Bastián Yáñez when the 72nd minute was running.
Of course, La Sur had chances to even the score, but the closeness of the match prevented it. “They had one, we lost concentration and that’s it, at home we can’t give anything away,” the local goalkeeper, Luis Kovacic, said after the match to the Fútbol de Tercera portal.
Meanwhile, coach Claudio Agüero said that “we had opportunities, three crossbars, and here the victory is not deserved, you win with goals. We were superior to Curacaví, but we have to move forward, this is just beginning.”
On the other side, Bastián Cartagena, pointed out that “we were given the victory, with one less player, we are happy for the victory.”
The next challenge for Rancagua Sur will be on Friday night, at 8:30 p.m. at the Patricio Mekis municipal stadium, hosting Tricolor de Paine. It should be noted that this match was to be played in the Metropolitan region but, when asked to invest a venue, the Rancagüino team agreed.
PUMANQUE WON
The other team from the O’Higgins region participating in this area is Deportivo Pumanque. Playing at their home, the municipal stadium, the team led by Renzo Yáñez won 4-2 over Deportivo La Granja.
For the Pumanquinos, it is their debut in the central zone, since last year they had to compete in the south, with extensive transfers to be able to meet the competition.
On date 2, Pumanque will go to the capital to visit Ferroviarios.
