This day the Fire Prevention and Safety Unit (UPREV) of the Fire Department of El Salvador launched the Property Certification Inspection Plan, with the purpose of energizing prevention processes on a national scale, aligning with decree 520 related to the Law of said institution. This effort is designed to enhance and respect the unique characteristics of the buildings and their surroundings, contributing to the development of the country through inter-institutional coordination.
“The objective is to generate that security, both for the people who work and those who come to these places”highlighted Baltazar Solano, Director of Firefighters of El Salvador and mentioned that more than 80 inspectors will be in charge of carrying out the verifications.
The plan will focus on the following critical areas: fuels, liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, private education centers, private health centers, textile industry, accommodation centers (hotels, motels, inns) and nightclubs (discotheques, casinos, pubs).
Likewise, the official specified that a total verification will be carried out in terms of safety, guaranteeing that each establishment has: fire extinguishers according to the risk, evacuation brigades, smoke detectors and that electrical risks are identified, as well , that the hallways are duly identified with evacuation routes, meeting points and that the electrical system is properly installed.
