Staniszkis: There was too much about Duda in the media

– Trzaskowski is my former student. In Warsaw, he performed his function very well. Now he should show his intelligence, decency and sense of humor, and he has a chance to win in the second round – said prof. Jadwiga Staniszkis, commenting on the poll results of the first round of the presidential elections in Onet.

She lectured at the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Warsaw and at the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National-Louis University in Nowy Sącz (Department of Political Studies at the Faculty of Political Studies). She worked at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and sat on the Sociology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She also lectured at many foreign universities, including: at UCLA, Harvard University, the University of Michigan, as well as in China, Japan and Taiwan. She was also a scholarship holder at the Wilson Center in Washington.

Jadwiga Staniszkis dealt with the problems of political, economic and social transformation

She dealt mainly with broadly understood political sociology, as well as economic sociology and organizational sociology. Her interests include the problems of political, economic and social transformation in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, the theory of real socialism and post-communism, as well as globalization.

Prof. Staniszkis: I am afraid of PiS victory

– The opposition should present their vision of the future: why it is worth voting for them, what they will invest in, what direction of development would suit Poland. In addition, talk about the effects of widespread demoralization and violation of the law – says prof. Jadwiga Staniszkis in an interview with “Super Express”

She was a keen observer of Polish political life, the author of many books and press publications. As an expert, she appeared on radio, television and in the press (she was a regular columnist for the weekly magazines Wprost and Ozon). She also published in the weekly W Sieci.

She sympathized with Law and Justice and repeatedly criticized the Civic Platform. Before the presidential elections in Poland in 2010, she publicly stated that Jarosław Kaczyński was, in her opinion, the best candidate for the position of head of state. However, after Law and Justice took power in the 2015 elections, she stated that she was disappointed with the policy pursued by Jarosław Kaczyński and Beata Szydło’s government.
