Mothers, uncles, grandparents, girlfriends and friends gathered in the Patio of Honor of the Army Aviation Brigade (BAVE) of Rancagua to say goodbye to the young people who came to the barracks of those who will voluntarily perform Military Service 2024.
This year, there are 80 brave volunteers who put aside their normal duties to say yes to the Chilean Army and faithfully comply with whatever the uniformed institution orders. In this way, 17 women and 63 men make up the new contingent that will carry out martial tasks for one year under the command of Captain Claudio Inzunza Araya.
At the site, the Commander of the Rancagua Army Aviation Brigade, General Juan Solari presided over the welcoming ceremony of the new conscripts, congratulating them for the decision made to be part of the Chilean Army, and to the parents of the volunteers for trusting in the uniformed entity, explaining the procedure for the new soldiers. And the fact is that garrisoning is not a minor thing, since it means assuming the responsibility of forming a group of young civilians into soldiers with principles and values typical of the life and work of an institution dedicated to the defense of the nation.
But not only the love of the country and the desire to start a military career are the only purposes for which hundreds of applicants come year after year to the barracks of a regiment, since the training courses attract hundreds of young people who hope to perfect their skills. knowledge, in addition to leveling their education and that they can carry out in the period that they are completing their military training, since they are given training in various courses, in addition to having the option of continuing in the Army through the Matrix Schools or applying as professional troop soldiers.
The quartering ceremony was attended by the evangelical pastor, Egilio Lara, and also by the chaplain of the Unit, Gabriel Becerra, who addressed words to each of those present, to end with the farewell of the families of the new conscripted soldiers. who were able to see in advance the facilities where their children will carry out their Military Service, which are located in the military unit’s facilities.
In this way, and at the end of the ceremony, the laughter, jokes and anecdotes little by little turned into tears and emotional farewells at the moment when the young people began to say goodbye to their family and friends to stay in the regiment and from now on visit them. only on his free days.
