The 42 people who will draw up the New Democracy European ballot were announced at an event at the Athens Conservatory. Among the names announced is that of Freddy Beleris, as well as that of Eleonora Meletis. For the elected mayor of Heimarra, Arostotelia Peloni, who coordinated the presentation of the candidates, said that “we hope that justice will prevail and that he will soon be released”, with the blue audience applauding.
Message from Beleris
In his message Freddy Beleris states that “today, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis offered me the opportunity to claim the vote of the Greek people in the June 2024 European elections.
“I thank him for that, but above all I thank him for the undivided support he offered me during all these months that I was imprisoned. The battle I am fighting is not personal. It is a battle for the rule of law and democracy, whose rules must be respected by all. It is a battle for the values that the West and Europe stand for and which must be respected by those who want to join the great European family. It is a battle for the most suffering and wronged part of Hellenism, the Greek minority of Albania”.
Mitsotakis: “Greece at the center of developments”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that “on this ballot there are people from all social categories but also people from a corner of Hellenism. Let the voice of New Democracy be heard strongly, in a changing Europe. Greece is once again at the center of political developments”. He also spoke about the need to have a common defense policy in the EU, and stated that the “critical battles for the primary sector, we must fight them with a strong faction”.
Once again, the prime minister raised the issue of stability, showing Maximos’s fear of potential political decay. Finally, he called on the blue-collar executives to fight, against the relaxed vote.
Giorgos Autias mentioned in his deposition that he was in the USA with Mr. Meimarakis and Mr. Plakiotakis. “I experienced Hellenism there. Hellenism votes for New Democracy. The whole planet is voting for a new democracy. He sent me a book, a gift from me because you change the laws from the show. For the homeland, for Greece. We will win,” he added.
Pyrros Dimas thanked Mitsotakis for his trust and asked the citizens to support him.
Also, Eleonora Meleti said that she wants to fight for women, so that they “have an equal position in Greek society”. She added that she wants to work in the field of gender rights and human rights.
At the same time, Dimitris Tsiodras noted that Greece, with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is the protagonist.
