This day, the ambassador of China-Taiwan, Miguel Li-jey Tsao, and the president, Bernardo Arévalo, inaugurated the Neonatology Building at the San Juan de Dios General Hospital, which is intended for newborns.
According to the authorities, the space has more than 90 cribs, and equipment that has cutting-edge technology, to assist the babies treated at the hospital.
The property will have specialized equipment and personnel for the care of infants, there will be an Intensive Care Unit, areas of endocrinology, neurodevelopment, a human milk bank, among other areas in relation to newborns.

President Arévalo also emphasized the care and attention for babies born prematurely, as they deserve quality medical assistance to guarantee their development.
“One in 10 children is born prematurely, many mothers arrive at the time of delivery in conditions of extreme vulnerability, due to malnutrition, among other situations, so in the new facilities they can be given adequate care,” he said.
