I am happy that from the beginning until now we have been inseparable with a strong, experienced, valuable person – Ms. Yotova, a member of the BSP. We will not betray you!” said President Rumen Radev at a meeting with citizens organized by BSP-Sofia.
Radev recalled that Bulgaria has been governed by a caretaker government for several months. “We inherited broken institutions, severe structural problems, revised countless schemes to drain native money. We managed to intercept many of them, for others we referred to the prosecutor’s office,” he explained. Radev is adamant that Bulgaria needs a parliamentary majority, but not a mechanical assembly, but an active one. “Because most of the problems require legislative changes. The problems in the judiciary also require constitutional reforms. The point is to unite those parties that are ready for reforms of the corruption model planted by the previous rulers and their overt and hidden allies. In these processes, a lot will depend on the socialists,” the president said and added that the BSP’s democratic traditions are incompatible with the oligarchic model. “People on the left would never accept unscrupulous backroom deals. It is important to hear the voice of respectable, socially minded people from the left,” emphasized Radev.
“During these years, as we promised you with Mrs. Yotova, we gave everything to protect the principles with which we were elected. We stopped the anti-social legislation, waged a war against arbitrariness and autocracy, did everything possible for Bulgaria to progress. We were together with the people protesting in the square where we met many of you. We restored the historical truth in the official speech on the highest platform. We defended the national interest. Thank you for your support,” concluded Rumen Radev.
Iliana Yotova: Bulgaria needs a strong president who does not hide behind foreign decisions
“Today, Bulgaria needs a strong president who does not hide behind foreign decisions. Who has shown that he is decisive and brave and can make decisions that are sometimes not very popular, including for himself. But it is the leader, the guide who can look into the future. And to lead the people behind him,” said Vice President Iliana Yotova. According to her, today we need a president who does not make deals with ministers or ruling parties, but a person who can stand up and say – “your time is over”. “We need a president who unites for another Bulgaria – for the Bulgaria of his citizens and seeks the support of all those who will support him in the fight against corruption and lawlessness”, she said and added: “WE ARE WITH YOU, because this is not a promise. It’s belonging. As families help their children and say WE ARE WITH YOU. Just as we take care of our parents and say WE ARE WITH YOU, so today with President Radev we say to you: WE ARE WITH YOU for victory in the first round,” emphasized Yotova.
The vice-president commented that during these years they fought with President Radev on several fronts, but not with the people of Bulgaria, but with lawlessness, corruption, our captured country, schemes and addictions. “With those who became fabulously rich on the backs of all of us. Even in recent days, billions are being talked about. But there are brave people in the country who will ask where these billions are and who are the culprits,” she is categorical. “Today our opponents speak loudly about how they are being repressed. It is not repression when you fight against the bought vote, against influences and addictions, because it is a fight for the law. And we all need this law and its equal application,” added Yotova.
Rumen Radev and Iliana Yotova thanked everyone present for their support and trust and recalled that in 2016 they were together again, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. “For 5 years we were also with you and were your voice. Every promise we made, today we stand with open eyes and say – we fulfilled it!”, said Yotova.
