Airlangga Hartarto Reveals Golkar Party’s Decision on Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution for 2024 Regional Elections

Golkar Party President Airlangga Hartarto responding to a statement by PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who said that all party candidates for the 2024 regional elections could register except Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution. Airlangga said that Bobby had received an assignment from the Golkar Party.

“Mr. Bobby has received a letter of assignment from Golkar Party together with Deputy Governor Ijeck,” Airlangga said after attending Golkar Party’s Halal Bihalal event in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Monday (15/4/ 2024).

Airlangga said that the specification letter would be examined in more detail. It opened up the opportunity for evaluation.

“Together we will get a letter of assignment and the Golkar Party will do an evaluation, later we will see the evaluation,” he said.

Airlangga said his party had prepared several names for the 2024 regional elections.

“Central Java is not yet, East Java Khhofifah,” said Airlangga.

He mentioned a series of names that had a chance to be put forward in the Jakarta Pilkada. The names circulating are Ridwan Kamil, Erwin Aksa and Ahmed Zaki.

“We always prepare Golkar, whether it’s Ridwan Kamil, whether it’s Mr. Zaki, or Mr. Erwin Aksa. Of course whoever gets inspiration from another party, the Golkar party done,” he said.

The General Secretary of PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, explained that until now a list of names of party officials had been prepared for the regional elections of 2024 However, he stressed that there was an exception for the name of Bobby Nasution so that he would not be named.

“Registrations are already in the regions. North Sumatra reported yesterday that everyone can register but Mas Bobby, it was a proposal from below,” said Hasto at Megawati’s house , Friday (12/4).
