From Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July Ancona will become the meeting place for travellers, bloggers, photographers, authors, journalists and artists, confirming its natural inclination towards openness, exchanges and dialogue between cultures. UlisseFest – Lonely Planet’s travel party aarrives in the capital of the Marche region, as a tribute to its itinerant tradition and as confirmation of the ability with which the world of travel can involve different professional figures and a heterogeneous public.
UlisseFest is the Lonely Planet travel festival organized by the EDT publishing house, Lonely Planet’s sole partner in Italy, which has been publishing the famous guides for over 30 years. On the programme, as per tradition, there will be meetings, readings, shows, films, concerts and DJ sets which will resonate for three intense days.
In past editions the festival has captured the attention of many spectators and has allowed a large audience to meet Italian and international guests, united by a great passion for travel. “Lonely Planet’s choice honors us greatly – he says the Tourism councilor Daniele Berardinelli – and allows the new tourist planning of the Marche capital to take on an even more marked and authoritative appearance. Being the headquarters of UlisseFest allows us, on the one hand, to have an important driving force towards the Italian and international public and, on the other, to continue along the path of valorising tourism and the “tourisms” of our city, which has important peculiarities, now historic and consolidated. One example among many is the value of the Omero Museum, a unique structure worldwide, which, with its artistic and monumental reproductions that can be explored by touch, without the aid of sight, combines the concepts of art, history, inclusion and of innovation. A special thank you goes to Mobilità&Parcheggi which is always available to support the initiatives of the municipal administration”.
“Lonely Planet remains in the Marche, a region with which we began a journey with Best in Travel in 2020 and continued with a series of other events, such as Visit Industry Marche, with the publication of new guides dedicated to the territories of the Marche and the MaMa project, Macerata brand – he declares Angelo Pittro, artistic director of the festival – For two editions we were in Pesaro and now we move to Ancona, a crossroads of cultures, beautiful villages, the amazing Conero sea and excellent cuisine. UlisseFest is a further stage that consolidates Lonely Planet’s now structured relationship with the Marche region.”
UlisseFest will also be presented at the next edition of the Bit in Milan: on 4 February, at 11.30 in the event dedicated to the city of Ancona within the Stand of the Marche Region, councilor Berardinelli, the municipal managers and technicians, the top of the Marche Region and Lonely Planet will meet sector operators on this topic.
