New Resolution Mandates Survey of Syrian Workers and Displaced People in Gharfeen Town

Today, Sunday, Mukhtar Gherfin Faris Faddoul issued a statement regarding Syrian workers and displaced people in the town, which stated: “Based on Resolution No. 42 of May 2, 2023 issued by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities and based on Resolution No. 74 of September 12 2023 issued by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities.” Based on Resolution No. 2023/1, the decisions of the Council of Ministers at its session held on September 11, 2023, based on the letter of His Excellency the Acting District Commissioner of Jbeil District No. 2024/175, based on the requirements of public safety and to maintain public order, and to complete the process of surveying all Syrian workers and displaced persons and creating a database for them. All citizens who are operators and landlords within the scope of our town of Gharfeen are required to fill out a form and submit it to us.”

He added, “It includes all the information and documents required to complete the survey process within three working days from its date, under penalty of being considered abstaining from implementing the circulars issued by the Minister of Interior, and it will be reported to the concerned authorities in the event of non-cooperation. All citizens are also requested not to rent any residential or commercial property.” Or an industrial worker for any displaced person before verifying that he has legal residency in Lebanon, and all citizens are required not to employ any foreign worker who does not meet the applicable conditions of employment.

He concluded: “The traffic law must be strictly enforced by not allowing any illegal motorcycle to pass within the town’s neighborhoods. In the event of any violation, the competent authorities will be notified to seize it, including illegal cars and vehicles.”
