Judo – African Championships: The 5 local preselections in grouping

Laura will try to keep her title and validate her Olympic ticket.

In less than two weeks, the Senior African Championships will be held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, from April 24 to 27, 2024. The Malagasy judo federation, through the national technical direction, is preparing for this continental event. The pre-selected fighters, 5 in number, sharpen their weapons at MyTrainingBox.fit, the one and only Crossfit Box approved in Madagascar. The federation does not yet know the final number of judokas entered for this continental joust, the last stage for the Olympic qualifications. “We are planning to send a total of 6 fighters”declared Mamy Randriamasinoro, national technical director at the FMJ. Laura Rasoanaivo is already assured of competing in these African championships where she will try to keep her title and her place for the continental quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The African champion is in Hungary for a High Level Training Camp organized by the International Judo Federation in Tata. This training camp brings together more than 500 judokas and comes right in the key week of preparation for the African Championships which will take place in Egypt from April 25 to 28. Since her training in Europe, the judokate from Saint-Michel has seen her level improve, as she confirmed at the African Games in Accra.
