The president and mentor of the Cacuaco Sports Academy, Job Samissende, told the newspaper O PAÍS, that women’s handball in the municipality is being developed thanks to the support of the Angolan Association for Women and Sports (AMUD).
Job Samissende guaranteed that the seven-meter sport is now seen seriously by those responsible for the municipality of Cacuaco, as well as those responsible for the education of young athletes.
“In fact, the AMUD management, led by Justina Praça, embraced our project on June 10, 2020 and since then we have had many successes”, he explained.
Having been developing women’s handball for four years, the head of the Cacuaco Sports Academy revealed that four girls from his club are continuing the training process at Petro de Luanda.
“They attracted the attention of the technical coordination to the tricolor team’s handball, because they have above average technical qualities”, said Job Samissende, adding that his academy does not have its own field for training.
On the other hand, Job Samissende stated that his management, with the support of AMUD, is working hard to promote women’s football in the Paraíso neighborhood, where thirty-three girls learn the ABCs of the great sport.
