Citymax 12 is designed as a unified platform that is equally suitable for three different types of power plants – diesel, electric and methane. The number 12 indicates the overall length of the machine. The bus will accommodate more passengers than the current LiAZ-529256. This was achieved by reducing the weight of the vehicle.
Citymax 12 is currently undergoing certification tests at the NAMI test site. In addition, the bus will soon make a long tour through Surgut, Tobolsk, Mineralnye Vody, Astrakhan and Volgograd so that engineers can test the climate control, engine and other systems.
The bus will receive a YaMZ-537 diesel engine. In the gas version, this engine with a volume of 7.7 liters can produce up to 300 hp.
Before this, it became known that sales of new buses in Russia in March 2024 increased 1.5 times compared to the same month in 2023. Over the past month, more than 2.1 thousand new buses have been sold in our country. Products of the domestic PAZ brand accounted for 55% of them – almost 1.2 thousand of these vehicles were sold in a month.
The top five most popular buses in Russia include only domestic models. These are PAZ 3204, 3205 and 4234, as well as NefAZ 5299 and LiAZ 5292.
