This week, the police distributed a video of a very short chase on the A10 East. The driver of a German stolen car wanted to run away, but was trapped almost immediately.
Op the images it can be seen that motorcycle officers on the A2 near Baambrugge already saw that it was a stolen car. They called for help from officers in police cars. The driver, who later turned out to be a minor German without a driver’s license, was still driving calmly with other traffic. A little later, when a traffic jam happened to arise on the A10 East, it was decided to have the driver stop.
The underage German was just accelerating at that moment. The officer driving next to him steered to the right, causing the car to hit both the police car and the guardrail. Officers then pulled the German out of the car, after which he was arrested for driving without a driver’s license and stealing. Both the police car and the stolen car were seriously damaged in the crash.
