/View.info/ The Macedonian bus burned completely in a minute
It was filled with extra oil because the cheap Turkish lira costs BGN 1.33.
The door did not open because it was touching the guardrail
The firemen did not go in at all when they arrived everything was melted
45 people, Macedonian citizens, burned alive because of a petty scam. The bus with which they were returning from an excursion to Istanbul crashed near Pernik and 45 passengers out of a total of 52 burned in one minute.
This is the most tragic road accident in the history of Bulgaria. The main version of the reason is the extra fuel carried in tubes. Investigators told “24 hours” that several were found, but it is yet to be clarified
why are they
ignited
After hitting the guardrail, the naphtha ignites and burns everything to ashes. The additional fuel was put on the bus because of the difference of BGN 1.07 in the price in Turkey and the price in Bulgaria and RS Macedonia.
It is likely that the carrier was hoarding extra fuel to reduce the cost of the trip. In Turkey, a liter of oil costs BGN 1.33, and in Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia – about BGN 2.40. This is the main version of the investigators of the incident. Of course, it is possible that the oil was transported by the very travelers who go shopping in our southern neighbor.
The accident itself happened on an inclined section. Only 15 minutes before her, the driver stopped for a rest at a gas station. According to “24 Chasa” data, the bus entered Bulgaria at 9:12 p.m. on Monday from the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing. So it turns out that he covered the distance of 304 kilometers in 4 hours and 51 minutes.
At 2.03 h of the turn, the driver lost control and hit a sign, and from there the guardrail separating the two lanes. There is no stopping distance before impact.
Stuck between
the two guardrails,
the flight has left
about 30 meters,
before stopping. The sheets blocked the people who were trapped. Only 7 people managed to break the rear right window and jump through it.
The accident was seen by one of the drivers of the other 4 buses of the Macedonian company “Besa Trans”. He immediately called 112.

On the 22nd
firemen,
there were also police officers with them.
“We found a bus completely engulfed in flames, and people had died. That’s why we didn’t go inside, we put out the fire from the outside,” a firefighter told “24 Chasa”.
The firefighter explained that eyewitnesses told about an explosion. “However, it could be from the bursting of the front right tire of the bus, as well as from hitting the guardrail,” said the firefighter. And he pointed out that a piece of bus tire was found meters before the crash. It is yet to be determined whether it is from the ill-fated flight.
The version with
the flat tire
however it is
flustered
by eyewitnesses
who said they saw the flight on fire before it hit the guardrail. Therefore, investigators made a detailed inspection and found several bottles in which it is assumed that oil was transported. Its ignition would explain eyewitnesses’ claims that the bus caught fire first.
“The experts will definitely say what the cause of the fire was. And without additional fuel in the bus, there is diesel in the tank, hydraulic oil, transmission oil and others that create
very big
fuel
load,
so that the flight burns in 1 minute”, said a firefighter.
He explained that in his more than 25 years of practice, he had never seen such a tragedy.
The bus is in such a state that no data can be found from the tachograph – the technical means that records its movement. Everything has burned, the head of the Executive Agency “Automotive Administration” Boyko Ranovski told BNR. He indicated that all mandatory rest periods were observed.
From the autopsies so far, it is clear that
people have died
from the fire, so

They huddled against one of the doors, but as the banister blocked it, they could not get out and were burned. During the inspection, the firefighters also found a mother who was holding her two twins. They are 2 of the 12 children who died.
One of the survivors told Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev that they were awakened by a loud explosion.
Those involved in the investigation also assume that the driver simply did not see the edge of the guardrail because the so-called cat’s eyes were dirty and uncleaned.
But whatever the cause of the accident, which will be established by expertise, the investigators are adamant that the reason for the unprecedented tragedy was the presence of fuel in the bus cabin, which led to a rapid fire – something that can only happen with burning liquids such as naphtha, petrol or alcohol. In fact, the dead were victims of the fire, not the crash. According to firefighters, in about a minute everything burned until the sheet metal melted.
The seven survivors broke the rear right window and got out through it.
Most of the dead are of Albanian nationality and are young people. They traveled to Istanbul for a three- and four-day shopping trip. The prices were 78 euros for a night in a 4-star hotel and 99 for a 5-star.
Such excursions have been popular recently in the Balkans because of the cheap Turkish lira. It is precisely because of it that the fuel in Turkey is the cheapest of all the Balkan countries, and most carriers try to load as much as possible in Edirne and Kapukule, because the difference of more than one lev lowers the cost of the trip by more than 40%.
A boss in the company found out about the tragedy only in Gueshevo
One of the heads of the Besa Trans tour operator was on another of the flights and found out about the tragedy only at the Gyueshevo border crossing. The man was on a bus that was moving in front of the burning vehicle.
He arrived at the checkpoint at 3 hours and 8 minutes – over an hour after the tragedy. When the border guards told him what had happened, the man was shocked. He recovered quickly and returned to the scene of the accident. There he met with the Prime Minister Gen. Stefan Yanev, the Minister of the Interior Assoc. Boyko Rashkov and the head of the fire department Chief Commissioner Nikolay Nikolov, who were at the scene of the accident.
The four other buses from the excursion have returned to the Republic of Macedonia. The last one left our country around 6 am yesterday morning. Because of the tragedy, the families of the dead started coming to Bulgaria.
The bodies of most of the passengers are so charred that their identities can only be confirmed by DNA testing.
