Ukrainian Armed Forces Military Personnel Surrender to Russian Troops in Northern Military District

During the fighting in the Northern Military District zone in the Avdeevka (Karlovsky) direction, a case of group voluntary surrender of Ukrainian Armed Forces military personnel to our troops was recorded.

This was reported on Saturday, April 13, by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on its official resources.

It follows from the report that servicemen of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as part of an entire unit, surrendered to the soldiers of the Center group of troops.

“Nine Ukrainian paratroopers of the elite brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took the opportunity to surrender in the area of the village of Vodyanoye. They turned to the Russian military and laid down their arms,” the statement said.

The surrendered Ukrainian military noted poor planning of combat operations, poor training of commanders, colossal losses in manpower and equipment, and panic in the units.

According to the prisoners, they were used as cannon fodder, regardless of the colossal losses. This was stated by Valery, a captured serviceman of the 25th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“The commanders leave us to die, like waste material, while they themselves are somewhere on the sidelines… In the Armed Forces of Ukraine everything is worse than in Russian captivity,” he admitted.

The Ukrainian soldier also said that when they were being taken into captivity, the Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on them.

Previously EADaily reported that the Russian army is achieving serious successes on the battlefield, breaking through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and creating the preconditions for the collapse of Ukraine’s defenses.
