They pay dearly to escape Ukraine, in order not to end up at the front. This situation is clearly described by the British report Sky News. Among other things, there is the action of traffickers who – for a hefty fee – flee young Ukrainians to Europe.
At the same time, a video has been released showing men being arrested and beaten by the authorities while trying to leave Ukraine.
These men were caught near the border with Romania trying to flee Ukraine.

“They are not ready to die, nor to be buried alive. Many people come to us for help,” states a trafficker. The report notes that one of the young Ukrainians planning to leave the country to avoid conscription has given $6,000 to a trafficker.
Every week, the Ukrainian authorities arrest people who try to escape the country, but also those who are suspected of being conscientious objectors.
According to Sky, traffickers are organizing “escape plans” for those who want to avoid conscription, securing them passage to Moldova, Hungary and Poland.
Since the start of the war, the government has banned men between the ages of 18 and 60 from leaving the country.
