The film Fly Me to the Moon has had a bit of a nightmare in its making. Marvel Originally, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson were expected to star alongside Jason Bateman as director, but then Bateman pulled out due to creative differences, and when the process of finding a new director took longer than expected, Evans also had to pull out themselves. This ultimately meant that Channing Tatum got to take over Evans’ role, while Greg Berlanti got to sit in the director’s chair instead of Bateman.
But anyway, with all of this in mind, Fly Me to the Moon managed to get made, and it’s now getting ready to debut. The film follows a marketing executive (Johansson) and a launch director (Tatum) who are hired by NASA to fake a moon landing during the space race in case the real mission fails. The film was once called Project Artemis, but has now revealed its actual title ahead of its July premiere.
The movie Fly Me to the Moon comes out on July 12 (and eventually on Apple TV+, probably because Apple is co-producing it with Sony Pictures), and you can watch the trailer for the movie below, along with a synopsis.
Synopsis: “Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star as a 1960s advertising shark and a launch director on a mission set against the backdrop of NASA’s historic moon landing.”
