Saarbrücken. Saarland supports training as nursing assistants at SHG Education with 636,701 euros. The corresponding funding notice was presented by the Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Dr. Magnus Jung during a visit to SHG Bildung gGmbH on the Burbach Saar Terraces.
The country’s support is intended to help “generate young talent for nursing,” said the minister.
The 23-month training to become a nursing assistant enables participants to take on basic nursing measures as well as support with treatment nursing tasks. It is also possible to progress to the shortened training course to become a nursing specialist.
On April 1st, 22 young people started training as nursing assistants at SHG Education. In addition to them, another 80 students complete the theoretical part of their nursing assistant training there. For the former, the practical part of the training takes place at one of the three SHG clinic locations in Saarland, and for the latter in inpatient or outpatient long-term care facilities of the cooperation partners.
The professional field of nursing assistants includes a wide range of tasks in the areas of nursing and geriatric care, such as supporting patients and residents in their everyday lives.
