Pope Francis will make a pastoral visit to Indonesia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and Singapore from September 2-13.

Pope Francis will visit the Asian countries of Indonesia, East Timor and Singapore and the Oceania country of Papua New Guinea. This long pastoral visitation program is from September 2-13 this year.

On Friday the twelfth (12/04/24), the head of the Press Office of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni, revealed the information regarding the longest and forty-fourth foreign apostolic visit of Pope. He has made it clear in the statement that the Pope will make this visit at the invitation of the heads of state and local church leaders of all these countries.

The Pope will be in Jakarta, the capital of Muslim-majority Indonesia, from September 3-6. Catholics constitute only 3.1 percent of the population of about 28 crores. It will be around 80 lakhs. From there on the 6th, the Pope will go to the Oceania country of Papua New Guinea and visit the capital of the day, Port Moresby and Wanimo. Catholics constitute about 32 percent of the population in Annad, about 20 lakhs. Papa will spend there till the 9th. On the 9th, the Pope will arrive in Dili, the capital of East Timor, a Southeast Asian country. The number of Catholics in that country is about 10 lakhs. This is 96 percent of the population. Papa will stay there till the 11th and then he will go to Singapore. Only about 3 percent of the population of Annadu are Catholics, that is about 4 lakhs. The Pope will return to the Vatican on the 13th.
