Tourism for All: Before Easter the lottery – 2024-04-13 10:24:16

The process of submitting applications to the “Tourism for All 2024” program on the online platform of vouchers.gov.gr was completed on Monday, April 8, with great participation.

The “Tourism for All” Program was implemented with the cooperation of the Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogiannis, the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Athanasios Petralias, by the Information Society (KtP M.A.E.), organizer of Ministry of Digital Governance within the framework of the Public Investment Program (PPE).

The aim is to directly stimulate domestic tourism and to strengthen, among others, the mountainous regions of the country, in the direction of a balanced distribution of visitors throughout the year.

According to the platform data the number of applications reached 972,893. Of these, 78.2% concern beneficiaries who will participate in the draw for a subsidy of 200 euros, 3% concern cases of people with a disability of 67% or more who will participate in the draw to receive double the amount, i.e. 400€ to cover the need accompanying person, and 18.8% concern vulnerable groups: married or cohabiting parties with three or more protected children, pensioners of all Funds with a final pension decision and unmarried or widowed citizens with protected children who will participate in the lottery for to receive an immaterial digital card worth €300.

Beneficiaries – The next stage

Potential beneficiaries of the program are adult natural persons who meet specific income criteria and have submitted a final personal income tax return for the year 2022.

Beneficiaries selected after a lottery will be able to issue an immaterial digital debit card, which they will use for their stay at any hotel or accommodation in the country they choose, without any bureaucratic process, reports ot.gr.

The date of the draw and the final tables of beneficiaries are expected within the second fortnight of April and before Easter. Therefore, those who have submitted a relevant application will be informed about the results of the lottery via sms and e-mail according to the information they stated during the application.

The Minister of Tourism Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni emphasized that the program aims to expand domestic tourism and lengthen the tourist season with an expected clear impact on local societies and economies. In addition, he pointed out the strong social sign of the new program with the significant support of the beneficiaries, the increase in the income criterion, the inclusion of new categories of special social groups.

The Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou said: “As the Ministry of Digital Governance, we utilize all modern technological tools to make citizens’ daily lives simpler and friendlier in all areas. We have an excellent collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism for the smooth implementation of the “Tourism for All” program, so that citizens can take the necessary actions easily and effortlessly, without unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.”
