It is one of the most anticipated series of the year and with good reason. Video game adaptations are in fashion after the ‘The Last of Us’ phenomenon and there are few universes that lend themselves more to it than Fallout. The Bethesda saga, with more than 9 installments and 55 million copies sold, is full of stories worth telling and when you have a 150 million budget to do so, it would be strange if things went wrong. Here is a review of everything that is known about the Fallout series: release date, chapters and duration, platform, second season, synopsis, creators…
When does the Fallout series premiere?
The Fallout series will premiere on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 03:00 in the morning in Spain.
What platform is the Fallout series on?
The series can be seen on Amazon Prime Video.
How many chapters does the Fallout series have and when do they come out?
The first season of ‘Fallout’ will consist of 8 1-hour episodes. They will all come out at the same time on Amazon Prime Video on premiere day, April 11, 2024. The platform has already confirmed a second season.
What is the Fallout series about?
Based on a famous and beloved video game saga, the series describes the story of a group of people who live in a bunker after a nuclear war. More than 200 years after the conflict and hoping that there is no longer any radiation, the inhabitants of the shelter come to the surface, to the Wasteland, and find themselves involved in all kinds of encounters and adventures with other survivors. Not everyone was lucky enough to be able to hide and life is not as we remember underground. Set in a retrofuturistic world where the aesthetics of 1950s America mix with robots, the series is expected to feature the same existentialism and black humor of video games.
Who are the creators and showrunners of ‘Fallout’?
There will be two creators and showrunners of ‘Fallout’: Geneva Robertson-Dworet (writer of ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Tomb Raider’) and Graham Wagner (whose history includes series like ‘The Office’ or ‘Silicon Valley’, among many others). They are two people with experience in video game adaptations and in the geek universe in general.
The director of the first episodes is also known: Jonathan Nolan, the brother of Christopher Nolan (and who is often forgotten that he also wrote those cult works that are ‘Interstellar’ and ‘The Dark Knight’). Alone and without his brother, Jonathan has given life to authentic television hits such as ‘Westworld’ (sadly cancelled) and ‘Person of Interest’. Jonathan is also the founder of Kilter Films, Amazon’s main partner for the series, so he will direct and produce.
Will there be a second season of ‘Fallout’?
Yes, Amazon Prime Video has already confirmed a second season of the Fallout series of which only one detail is known: the recording location. The first was done in New York and Utah, but the second will move to California. Will this have plot implications? Everything indicates that we will wait to see it to find out.
