First in the Lithuanian school games

2022-2023 Lithuanian school games city, district sports competition group 2 champion – Klaipėda district: 2,236 points – 26 sports events.

“For the first time in the Lithuanian school games, Klaipėda district is first. We are glad that we have such active physical education teachers and athletic schoolchildren in the district. 2022-2023 mm Lithuanian school games gymnasium, high school sports competition group 2 champions – Gargždai “Vaivorykštės” gymnasium. All athletes were trained by teachers Valentas Marcinkevičius, Tomas Papievis, Virginijus Čekanauskas and Anželina Papievienė. The third place winners of the 2022-2023 Lithuanian school games in pro-gymnasiums, main school sports competitions in rural areas are Vėžaičiai primary school, teacher Birutė Ruigienė”, Gargždų sports center informs.
Algirdas Petravičius, head of the Education and Sports Department of the Klaipėda district municipality, commented on the winning news on Facebook: “Klaipėda district, taking into account the number of students studying in municipal schools, competed in the group of 20 municipalities. The title of the winners goes to Gargždis! The results of 28 teams, starting from square, darts or tug-of-war and ending with basketball, volleyball or football, in the zonal, interzonal or final competitions held throughout the academic year allowed them to become the winners of these games for the first time in the history of the district. Gargždai “Vaivorykštės” gymnasium, which surpassed 55 other Lithuanian gymnasiums of this group, which participated in at least zonal competitions, also won the first place for the first time! The athletes of Vēžaičiai Primary School won the third place among all pro-gymnasiums and primary schools in rural areas of Lithuania! Sincere thanks to all the students and their teachers who participated in these competitions. Thanks to the coaches of the Klaipėda District Sports Center, Gargždai “Bangas” football club, whose students’ excellence made the school teams even stronger.”
