A Cuban identified as María Cos, mother of a young man affected during the explosion at the Saratoga hotel in Havana, stated that her son requires a medical operation that could not be performed due to the obstacles imposed by the Castro bureaucracy.
A complaint circulating on social networks explains that the 19-year-old young man was trapped under the rubble for several hours during the tragedy that occurred in 2022, which left him with several consequences.
The publication, shared on Twitter by journalist Marta María Ramírez, indicates that the young man requires an operation on his head, and that “he had a problem in his urethra and has to use a direct urinary catheter to the bladder.”
Likewise, he explained that at the time of the explosion, his son was a minor, so he was treated at the ‘Juan Manuel Márquez’ Pediatric Hospital, located in the capital municipality of Marianao.
María Cos points out that the main problem is that this hospital does not have the necessary resources to perform the surgical intervention, and cannot do it anywhere else because that was where he was treated after the explosion.
“As he was a minor, his file stayed there, now at 19 years old he is older. At the ‘Hermanos Ameijeiras’ Hospital there are the resources and the machine it needs, but the procedures are difficult,” explained the hurt mother, who criticized the complicated bureaucracy of the Castro regime.

The woman does not understand why her son’s case has not been solved, since it is assumed that the victims of the explosion that occurred in Havana two years ago were a priority for the Cuban government.
“The accident was his responsibility, for a project whose operation went wrong,” he added.
Finally, Cos stated that she is desperate due to the general shortage in the country, pointing out that she requires help to find catheters 18 and 20, which her son uses.
Everything indicates that the citizens of the Island must not only face the growing shortage of medical supplies in the country, but also the complicated bureaucratic processes that end up delaying surgical interventions necessary for the well-being of these people.
