Culture creates commission to review expenses of decentralized bodies

Mexico City. The federal Ministry of Culture (SC) published yesterday an agreement in the Official Gazette of the Federation to create a special commission that will allow the owner, Alejandra Frausto, to review expenses and resources made by decentralized bodies of said agency. This establishes the integration, organization and operation of the Internal Administration Commissions of the deconcentrated administrative bodies of the SC. This, derived from the review of the existing legal framework.

The commission will be made up of the head of the secretariat, a member of the secretariat, a member of the internal control bodies and representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.

Towards these ends, they may also invite, on a one-time basis, external people who are related to culture or belong to private or public institutions in that field. The heads of the internal control bodies will be appointed by the head of the SC.

The Internal Administration Commissions will also have to have a technical secretariat to solve the problems and needs of the commission.

The agreement consists of eight articles. In the seventh, it states that the Internal Administration Commissions will have a “pro-secretariat”, or vice-secretariat, which, among its functions, is to call ordinary sessions, at least four times a year, and the extraordinary sessions that are necessary beforehand. request from the members of the commission to the technical secretariat, when there are matters that, due to their importance, warrant it.

The Internal Regulations of the SC published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on November 8, 2016, states that the SC will rely on the following deconcentrated administrative bodies to resolve matters within its jurisdiction: National Institute of Anthropology and History; National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature; National Institute of Historical Studies of the Revolutions of Mexico; National Institute of Copyright and Radio Education.
