Government Fund in Tromsø Law Proposal Presented at Cabinet Meeting in Royal Palace

In the Cabinet today, a proposal for a law on the Government Fund in Tromsø was presented.

The Council of State was held at the Royal Palace on 12 April 2024. The following decisions are published:

Sanction of the Storting’s decision on 4 April 2024 to the Act on amendments to the Act on contractual pensions for members of the State Pension Fund and certain other laws (new contractual pension).

Legislative resolution no. 51 (2023-2024) Law no. 14

The law enters into force on 1 January 2025.

Sanction of the Storting’s decision on 4 April 2024 to the Act on amendments to the Act on the State Pension Fund and certain other laws (strengthened incentive to work longer).

Legislative resolution no. 52 (2023-2024) Law no. 15

The law enters into force immediately.

Ministry of Children and Families

Sanction of the Storting’s decision on 4 April to the Act on access to information etc. for the committee that will investigate adoptions from abroad to Norway.

Legislative resolution no. 50 (2023-2024) Law no. 16

Ministry of Industry and Fisheries

Sanction of the Storting’s decision on 4 April 2024 to the Act on changes to company legislation etc. (provision of birth and social security numbers, registration of sole proprietorships, requirements for company names, guidelines for remuneration, etc.).

Legislative resolution no. 54 (2023-2024) Law no. 17

The law enters into force on 1 July 2024.

3. Regulations

Ministry of Industry and Fisheries

Regulations on the repeal of regulations of 19 December 2014 no. 1716 on exemptions from Section 10 of the Competition Act for cooperation in the sale of books are laid down.

4. Appointments, etc.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Appointment of department director Atle Konta Midttun as ambassador in Vilnius, Republic of Lithuania. He takes office from the time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides.

Appointment of department director Per Anders Pollen Nilsen as ambassador in Santiago, Republic of Chile. He takes office from the time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides.

Appointment of department director Leif Trana as ambassador to Singapore, Republic of Singapore. He takes office from the time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides.

Appointment of senior adviser Hilde Svartdal Lunde as ambassador in Bucharest, Romania. She takes office from the time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides.

Appointment of senior adviser John Petter Opdahl as ambassador in Havana, Republic of Cuba. He takes office from the time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides.

Appointment of ambassador in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Svein Bæra, also ambassador in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin.

Department of Digitization and Administration

Appointment of deputy director Michael Staås Tveter to department director in the Ministry of Digitization and Administration. He takes office from the time the ministry decides.

5. Complaints etc.

Ministry of Industry and Fisheries

Complaint from Advokatfirmaet Thommessen about the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries’ decision of 8 November 2017 regarding refusal of access to the documents under journal entries 1 to 8, 11 and 12 in the ministry’s case 17/4932 is not upheld.

6. Other matters

Ministry of Energy

Opening of an area on the Norwegian continental shelf in the Norwegian Sea and the Greenland Sea for mineral activities.
