MAINZ – A 73-year-old man was killed in a serious traffic accident near Mainz, Germany, on Thursday evening. A passing truck driver filmed everything, German police report.
According to the police, the man was driving on the A60 when he left the road and crashed into the guardrail. From there the car was thrown across the road back to the center guide rail. Emergency workers removed the unconscious driver from his car and resuscitated him, but after a while they could only determine that the 73-year-old man had died.
Truck driver films fatal accident
While responding to the accident, emergency services found a truck driver who, despite the installation of black screens, was filming the accident as he drove past. According to police, he can expect criminal charges and a severe sentence. This means that he could receive a fine or a prison sentence of up to two years, according to a police spokesperson.
According to the spokesperson, the police are always bothered by these types of sensation seekers. However, the number of people filming traffic accidents has decreased recently.
In May 2019, a filming truck driver was confronted with the facts and had to go with an officer to see a dead truck driver who had just been killed.
