Tonino Baliardo's Gypsy Kings to Kick Off Generation 2024 Tour in California

The leading icons of Rumba Flamenca, Tonino Baliardo’s Gypsy Kings, return to the United States for a series of concerts.

This time they will be present on the West Coast of the country and will begin their Generation 2024 tour at the YouTube Theater on May 9, in Los Angeles, California.

The musicians hope that their fans will sing, dance and enjoy all those songs that are still valid even after 30 years.

“We want to return to the United States and we are going to break those scenarios. So that they never forget Tonino Baliardo’s Gypsy Kings and his most important songs.” Loukas told us in an interview from Spain. “These young people have a lot of energy,” added Maestro Tonino.

The Gypsies of the South of France will begin a tour with a total of eight dates that will take place exclusively in California. Additionally, residents of Riverside and San Diego will also have the opportunity to enjoy songs like ‘Djobi, Djoba’ and ‘A Mi Way’ in their respective cities.

Tonino and company will continue their tour in Northern California, then visit Nevada, Oregon and Arizona.

In a chat via video call from France, with the renowned composer and founder of the Gypsy Kings, Maestro Tonino Baliardo, Cosso, Loukas and Mikaël we talked a little about the Generación Tour and what it means to tour the United States after so many years of experience.

“For me it means a lot of things,” said Tonino with a smile as if remembering with happiness. “It’s the American dream, isn’t it?” added Mikaël, the young singer who, together with his sons Cosso and Mikaël, are little by little inheriting that great legacy.

Baliardo’s Gypsy Kings are still very active when they’re not on tour, says Loukas, who talked about a new song called, ‘History.’ This song has been composed by maestro Tonino, which you can listen to and enjoy during this 2024 tour of the United States.

Two tours? Questioned about the reason why there are two different Gypsy Kings tours, one with Nicolas Reyes and another with Tonino Baliardo, they explained to us that for the moment Nicolas and Tonino have decided to tour separately, Nicolas with his family and Tonino with his.

But the important thing is that they both have the rights to the songs and these hits that people know and sing so well. Therefore, on this tour, they will also be able to sing together famous songs like ‘Volare’ or ‘Bem Bem, Maria’.
