The story is a continuation of the Joker project, which premiered in 2019 and won a statuette for best music in addition to the Oscar for the actor in the lead role of Phoenix. The second part, referring to the comic book from the DC Comics workshop, is again being directed by Todd Phillips, who also wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver.
In the premiere film, whose title translates from French as “madness for two”, in addition to Phoenix and Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener or Steve Coogan also star; the budget is almost double compared to the first Joker. You can find a sample in the video.
