Giving continuity to the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry, after preventive detention was issued last Wednesday to the mayor of Rancagua, Juan Ramón Godoy, some proceedings were begun by the Investigative Police (PDI) at the administrative offices. of the Municipal Corporation (CORMUN), where there was a complaint that the emails of people who could be involved in this notorious case of alleged corruption were being intervened and deleted.
Behind closed doors in the old CORMUN house, located on Gamero and Almarza streets, the Municipal Administrator, Cristian Pavez, some councilors and PDI personnel, carried out the proceedings.
Given this situation, councilors Valentina Cáceres and María del Carmen Orueta came out to report on their presence at the headquarters of the municipal Corporation and that the purpose of this visit is to verify that they are trying to hide information relevant to the continuity of the trial. who follows Mayor Godoy.
“The Public Ministry was notified and they quickly came to back up the computers and talk to different officials,” said Councilor Orueta, as she presumes that it is a strict order from the mayor.
Councilor Cáceres added that the investigation is in the initial stage and that it could be “a network and pyramid of alleged corruption,” where a greater number of defendants could emerge in the case.

Later, the Municipal Administrator, Cristian Pavez, pointed out that his unexpected visit was due to the cooperation carried out by the Public Ministry and at the same time authorizing the corresponding procedures, although he did not specifically disclose the work carried out by the staff. of the PDI.
Regarding the alleged action of deleting or deleting emails from the staff of this corporation, Pávez limited himself to expressing that “it is not my responsibility to indicate what is being done at this time.”
“As public officials, our duty is to cooperate in the investigation and in what is within our reach,” reiterated the president(s) of CORMUN.
Cristian Pávez was emphatic in stating that he will make his position available, as a gesture of cooperation in the investigations and in this way he has expressed it to the Municipal Council.
