The flood, which previously flooded Orsk, reached Orenburg. Over the past night, more than 300 houses were flooded in the city, city authorities report. The water level in the Ural River in Orenburg exceeded the critical level by more than 60 cm. Hydrologists warn of a further increase in water in the Urals in the next 24 hours.
According to city authorities, at 2 p.m. local time, the water level in the Ural River near Orenburg exceeded one thousand centimeters. Over the past 24 hours, the water level in the Urals near Orenburg has risen by almost a meter.
Hydrologists predict a further increase in the level of the Urals in Orenburg by 30-70 cm in the next 24 hours.
The water level in a tributary of the Urals – the Sakmara River – in Orenburg has reached 813 centimeters; a level of 870 cm is considered dangerous.

More than 300 houses were flooded in Orenburg last night, about 200 more may be flooded in the near future, first deputy head of the city Alexey Kudinov reported. In total, 2,392 household plots and 1,910 households are currently flooded in Orenburg and its suburbs, report city authorities.

Earlier, the governor of the Orenburg region, Denis Pasler, called on residents of Orenburg, whose houses are at risk of flooding, to evacuate. At the same time, he clarified that potentially the entire city’s development along the Urals and Sakmara falls into the flooding zone.
In the city and the Orenburg region, the population is being evacuated from already flooded areas. These are mainly country and cottage settlements.
A total of 865 people were evacuated; 58 people, including 22 children, are in temporary accommodation centers.
According to the Orenburg Media telegram channel, on the morning of April 10, 30 people were evacuated from the flooded holiday village of Dubki within an hour. Rescuers took another 13 from the cottage village of Dubovy Plyos, where residents had previously refused to evacuate.

Orenburg City Hall told about the rescue of two people in a gardening community outside the Zarechny microdistrict in Orenburg. Rescuers who arrived at SNT, which had gone under water, noticed two people who could barely stay on the water and called for help.
According to a statement from the mayor’s office, a man and a woman came to SNT on an inflatable boat to feed the goats, but their boat ran into a fence with barbed wire, broke and began to sink.

In Orsk the water began to recede
Meanwhile, the level of the Ural River in Orsk is decreasing – on the morning of April 10, the water level dropped to 899 cm. Water began to leave previously flooded areas in Orsk and its neighboring settlements.
The influx of water into the Iriklinskoye reservoir decreased by 259 cubic meters per day. On the morning of April 10, it was 1226 cubic meters per second, the water discharge was 1342 cubic meters per second.
According to the mayor of Orsk, Vitaly Kozupitsa, 136 residential buildings in Orsk were freed from water. 6,793 houses remain flooded.
