TV 2 and NRK reports itself about the power outage at Media City in Bergen, which occurred just before seven o’clock on Thursday morning.
TV 2’s newscast, which was supposed to start at seven o’clock, was therefore not on air.
– I have never experienced anything like it. It was totally unexpected and a bit spooky, says news anchor Arill Riise to TV 2.
NRK Vestland’s morning broadcast for Hordaland on radio was also affected by the power cut.
– We heard a bang then it went black, says NRK’s news anchor Tom Arne Moe to NRK.
The power was back on at Media City at 7.13am.
– We are working hard to get everything back to normal operation again. We hope to be able to broadcast normally from eight o’clock, says press manager at TV 2, Jan-Petter Dahl, in an SMS to Dagbladet.
In the meantime, “Good morning Norway” is broadcast on the channel. It is produced in Oslo, and is thus not affected by the power cut.
– Good morning Norway also provided a quick news bulletin for the viewers, says Dahl.
