The deputies approved a new extension of the Exception Regime, with the purpose of maintaining the legal tools for the Government to continue the fight against gang members, since it is estimated between 8,000 and 10,000 criminals who are still free.
The president of the Legislative Assembly, Ernesto Castro, recalled the origin of the gangs in street fights after the end of the civil war, and assured that the majority political parties of that time let them grow, and even made agreements with their leaders to give them political spaces. .
“We cannot forget that we come from a country in turmoil, from generations accustomed to hearing about war, violence, murders, robberies, rapes, extortions, disappearances.
