The Legislative Assembly yesterday approved a reform to the General Budget Law 2024, allocating $5 million towards public works such as squares, parks, green areas and fields, with the aim of promoting tourism and economic development.
The initiative, backed by 66 deputies of the Legislative Assembly, supported the strategy of the Executive Branch to increase national and international tourism and contribute to the economic growth of the country.
The approved funds come from the surplus collected by the Ministry of Finance in fiscal year 2023 and will be administered by the Ministry of Public Works to improve public spaces and generate capital gains.
