Burgas karatekas went through a serious test in the 18th edition of the State Championship for children from 4 to 15 years inclusive.
The competition is a tradition for SCC “Kyokushin Spirit” and for Burgas.
This year, however, the age limit in it has also increased – up to 15 years, because on May 18 and 19, Varna, BKA – IKO Bulgaria will host the 37th European Kyokushin Karate Championship (from 10 years and up ).
Thus, the Burgas competition was a general inspection and qualification of the karatekas of the respective age groups for this prestigious championship.
In the “Nikola Stanchev” hall, from the club of Sensei Gergana Apostolova-Kostova, 40 competitors took part, who ranked second in the team competition. Prize places were taken by:
First place: Pavlin Pavlekov, Tiana Nikolova, Kaloyan Stoyanov and Valentin Borisov.
Second place: Filip Manev, Nikol Georgieva, Plamena Mustakerova, Maria Taneva, Alexia Yaneva, Gergana Encheva, Maria Mustakerova, Patrick Beagle, Ivelin Draganov and Tervel Ivanov.
Third place: Adrian Krinchev, Danaya Lana, Tanya Bineva, Georgi Bahchevanov, Petra Kocheva, Igor Peychev, Hatche Smail, Simona Goranova and Mikaela Nikolova.
Vasil Demirev, Tervel Vasilev, Vyara Gineva and Nadezhda Atanasova are in fourth place.
Special awards of the Championship were presented to: Raden Georgiev – SCC “Ichi Geki Varna” for: “Smallest competitor”; Valentin Borisov from SCC “Kyokushin Spirit” for: “Most technical competitor”; Nikola Kalkovski – SCC “Ulot Smort” Plovdiv, for: “Will to win”.
The event was initiated by the BKA – IKO Bulgaria, chaired by the world champion – Shihan Emil Kostov and with the assistance of the Municipality of Burgas and the “Kyokushin Spirit” SCC, with the instructor the world champion of kata – Sensei Gergana Apostolova-Kostova.
About 180 karatekas from 12 clubs, members of BKA – IKO Bulgaria, took part in the competition.
