Music and theater will star this weekend in the activities offered by 21 DISTRITOS, the cultural revitalization program of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Area of ​​the Madrid City Council that brings high-quality artistic proposals to all neighborhoods, free and for everyone. the ages.

Alberto Velasco ‘Sweet Dreams’

Alberto Velasco, one of the performers of the most versatile and transgressive theater-dance of the Spanish scene, presents Sweet Dreams, a dramatic comedy that addresses the desire to live. Through furious poetry, the work explores acceptance and reconciliation with oneself. Velasco immerses himself in an internal dialogue that questions how to move forward after failed attempts and disappointments, reflecting on loneliness, failure and the search for meaning in life. She founded and coordinates Spoken Word Bilbao and has collaborated with the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum since 2017. She has published two books and in 2021 she launched a musical project with the musician Juan Escribano, combining poetry and rap. Additionally, she has collaborated with artists such as Derek V. Bulcke and Abraham Boba, and has participated in events with Kase.O and Nacho Vegas. Laura addresses social issues in her works, such as mental illness and superficial exposure on social media, reflecting her commitment to generating critical reflections in her audience.
