A fire broke out Monday night after 10 p.m. Budapest XIV. district, at the Rákosrendező train station. Based on photos received from our readers, the fire burned with large flames in the area behind Szőnyi út. Most of the fire was extinguished after midnight. According to Mávinform’s announcement on Tuesday morning, train traffic could also resume on the line.

A announcement of disaster management according to the railway sleepers on the Teleki Blanka utca side of the station caught fire. A part of a 100-meter-long, 5-meter-high footing fell on fire. The professional firefighters from the capital, who came out in great force, started extinguishing the fire with two water jets. Machines were sent to the site to dismantle the tree.
A Telex correspondent on the scene reported that the fire may have started around 10:40 p.m. The Rákosrendező station was evacuated due to the danger of the overhead line breaking off.
The area was classified as explosive, the area around the station was closed,
it is not possible to drive through the nearby railway crossing. More and more police and fire engines arrived at the scene. In addition to the sleepers, bushes and trees also caught fire.
A Mávinform reported thatthat trains cannot run at the Rákosrendező station, because the disaster management stopped the train traffic due to a fire in the area of the discontinued tracks.
Those traveling by evening trains could expect significant delays on the Budapest–Vác–Szob, Budapest–Veresegyház–Vác and Budapest–Esztergom lines. On the Esztergom line, trains ran as far as Angyaföld, and from there they left for Esztergom. On the Szob line, trains ran only as far as Rákospalota-Újpest, and from there they left for Vác, Szob, and Veresegyház, Vác. Railway tickets and passes are accepted on the M3 metro and tram 14 on the section between Rákospalota–Újpest–Angyalföld–Lehet tér–Nyugati pályaudvar.
