The author against Maggie Tavibi and Channel 14: “presenter of a propaganda channel”

Maggie vs. Maggie: Channel 14’s news anchor, Maggie Tabibi, was chosen last night (Monday) as one of the thirty promising young people of “Forbes” magazine. The one who came out against the selection of Tabibi was the writer and publicist Maggie Otzi who expressed on her account on X (former Twitter) her concern about the “whitewashing” process that she says the channel is going through by major media outlets. According to Otzi’s review, the name of the journalist Yanon Magal, who chose to respond to her words in his story on his Instagram account, is also mixed up.

“Now Forbes is also participating in the whitewashing process of this propaganda channel, with a cheerleader for their ‘Edition’ presenter,” Otzi wrote contemptuously at the beginning of a tweet. “That’s how it works. Gradually,” she claimed. “We start with an easy-to-digest presentation and end up with items praising Linon Magal in the mainstream media. One day we will learn to stop being frogs that cook them slowly in a pot. Today is not that day,” she concluded.

Yanon Magal, for his part, chose to refer to Otzi’s tweet, and against the background of a screenshot of her words that were quoted in her account on X, he wrote sarcastically: “When the frog wants a kiss from the prince.”

Let’s recall that Tavibi was recently chosen by Minister Miri Regev, who is in charge of Independence Day events, to lead the torch lighting ceremony that will take place this coming May. Tavibi will host the ceremony alongside Channel 12 reporter Tamir Steinman. Regev justified her choice of Tabibi and Steinman in a statement to the media: “Tabibi and Steinman are leading figures in the Israeli media and their combination brings to light the unity that is needed especially at this time.”
