The most nationalistic schools and the most civic-minded young people in the Klaipėda district are the foundation of the future

Four years ago, the “Tautiška” competition, which started remotely as a quiz, has grown into a patriotic movement and is increasingly actively involving schools and students of the Klaipėda district.
Voting according to the Eurovision principle, educational institutions compete for nominations for the most national dance, song, celebration of February 16, informal lesson and quiz. After adding up the votes, the most national school in the Klaipėda district is also chosen, which this year was recognized as the primary school of Dituva Aleksandars Teodoras Kuršaitis. The initiator and organizer of the competition “Tautiška” is the Gargžda Open Youth Center.
He wished to create Lithuania in the district
Last Thursday, at the event held at the Veivirženiai Cultural Center, Klaipėda District Municipality Mayor Bronius Markauskas was happy that the sung anthem of the Republic of Lithuania is getting louder and louder on the lips of the youth. “The words of the anthem are very meaningful. The Lithuanian nation really has something to be proud of: our history, culture, language, customs. I believe that nationalism is not just another word and all of us in the hall, especially the youth, understand the noble meaning of this word. As mayor, I would like you to return to our district after finishing your studies and continue to create Lithuania here, but things happen in various ways, it is not bad to see the world. My request: wherever you are, keep your nationalism,” the mayor encouraged.
Aidas Kryževičius, director of the Gargžda Open Youth Center, who organized the first “National” quiz, thanked the education community at the ceremony: “The biggest thanks to the schools and students. Thank you teachers, I bow my head to you for the fact that you are laying the foundation of nationality, on which you are building our future residents of the district.”
The awards were presented and congratulatory words were said by Vytautas Butkus, Vice Mayor of Klaipėda District Municipality, Remigijus Zabaras, Company Commander of the 302nd Infantry Company of Gargžda, Virginija Kazakauskienė, Director of the Education Center, and Saulius Ličkus, Captain of the 3rd National Team of Žemaičiai District. The event ended with the group “Lyrika” and SK “Kuršis”, performing the piece “Dievas dave” from the rock opera “Jūratė ir Kastytis”.
He congratulated the most civilized young people
At the “Tautiška” awards event of the most nationalistic school of the Klaipėda district held in the Veivirženiai cultural center, awards were presented to the most civic-minded young people of the Klaipėda district. Agnė Zabrynaitė, the chairperson of the Youth Affairs Council of the Klaipėda district municipality, who announced the most civic youth representatives, named the importance of citizenship in everyday life. “Often, when we think of a citizen, we think that he participates in commemorations, celebrates public holidays, but citizenship is not only that. “Citizenship is work, small initiatives with which we contribute to the creation of the well-being of our environment, community spirit,” said A. Zabrynaitė.
As many as 8 students were chosen as the most civic young people of the Klaipėda district: Evelina Šaltupytė (Endriejavo primary school), Tomas Butkus (Dovila primary school), Agnė Pučinskaitė (Gargždų “Minijos” pro-gymnasium), Gailė Mikužytė (Gargždų “Kranto” pro-gymnasium), Arminas Račickas (Kretingalė primary school), Gintarė Vasiliauskaitė (Dituva primary school), Paulina Kizalavičiūtė (Ketvergiai primary school), Laura Lygnugarytė (Veiviržėnai Jurgis Šaulis high school).
Nominations tinged with nationalism
At the “Tautiška” award event of the most national school in the Klaipėda district, the schools of the “Most National” class were chosen: the 1st place was won by Dituva Aleksandras Teodoras Kuršaitis primary school, the 2nd place was won by Gargžda “Kranto” pro-gymnasium, the 3rd place was won by Ketvergiai primary school.
The winner of the quiz was the Dovilai primary school, the second place was won by the Kretingale primary school, and the third place was won by the Jurgis Šaulis gymnasium of Veiviržėnai.
Dituva’s Aleksandars Teodoras Kuršaitis primary school won the “national” dance nomination, Kretingale primary school won the 2nd place, and Veivirženiai Jurgis Šaulis high school won the 3rd place.
The nomination for the “most national” song was given to Aleksandars Teodoras Kuršaitis Primary School in Dituva, which won 1st place, Jurgis Šaulis Gymnasium in Veivirženiai won 2nd place, and Endriejavos Primary School won 3rd place.
The most awaited part of the event is the announcement of the educational institution that won the title of the “Most National” Klaipėda district school. Captain Saulius Ličkus, representing the commander of the 3rd national team of Žemaičiai district, lieutenant colonel Ramūnas Jankauskas, presented the awards of this nomination. 3rd place was won by Dovilai primary school, 2nd place was won by Kretingale primary school.
Dituva Aleksandars Teodoras Kuršaitis Primary School has been declared the “most national” school in Klaipėda district.
