According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, there was a car and a truck on the bridge when it collapsed, reports the Russian news site RBC. The woman driving the car died and the man driving the truck was seriously injured. A total of five people were hospitalized.
According to the BBC, around 8,000 households were left without gas after the gas pipe was damaged in the accident.
Residents of the area had repeatedly asked the authorities to repair the bridge, according to Telegram channel 112. According to Meduza, 9 million rubles (89,000 euros) were budgeted for the restoration of the bridge in 2018.
