The Government of the Province will ask the Legislature to authorize a credit request for 40 billion pesos to reschedule the debt payments of the Bicentennial Fund in pesos and in installments. The details were provided today in the Chamber of Deputies by the ministers of Economy and Public Services, Robert Dib Ashur; of Infrastructure, Sergio Camacho; and Government, Human Rights and Labor, Ricardo Villada.
The officials reported on the credit request with six months of grace and repayment in 24 months, to “be able to allocate these resources to alleviate the current situation derived from the resources that do not arrive from the Nation.”
The purpose of this request is to extend the payment terms of the Bicentennial Fund debt that expires in June in 24 installments in pesos, instead of dollars, to address different priority areas, considering national cuts. “We of Salta owe 177 million dollars less than in December 2019 thanks to the fact that we have a province with fiscal balance for four years, with predictability and accounts in order,” highlighted Dib Ashur.
Villada recalled that almost $100,000 million less arrived in the Province from the Nation in January, February and March. Camacho maintained that this Government did not consider at any time defaulting on the debt or failing to comply with the commitments made.
After the presentations, the deputies made their queries regarding the topic. The president of the Chamber of Deputies Esteban Amat and deputies from the various blocks participated in the meeting.
